I decided to bulid this web site in aid to help others to build there own or give an idea of how to build there own guniea pig hutch or rabbit hutch (just increase the size) as i didnt like any of the small flimsy hutches i saw in my local pet shop.as for paying £80-£100 for something that had the build cost of only £15 thats was a rip off especially with the build quality.thin plywood sides and a run built on the front that cracked when my 11 year old son leant on it.ill fitting doors and a flat felted plywood roof  that would more than likely buckle and sag under the effects of rain and snow.and need to be replace in a couple of years.so that was a no no!!!

And thats not even to mention saftey from other animals,cats,dogs,teenagers,tigers and bears 'o' my

so lets get on with it.

This could be used for a rabbit/s but it would have to be higher the height of this fence is 600mm and should be increased to at least 900mm or more

the fence is made of 4 panels each 1.8 metres in lenght and at a height of 600mm but as you can see there is 3 legs on each panel that are spiked into the ground by a further 150mm so total cutting height would be 750mm.

i made them this height because of the standard chicken wire i used which came in a roll of 10m x 600mm.there is no need for a gate (personal choise)as the fence is a perfect height to keep the guniea pigs in but we can step over it easily enough.

it is made up of soft sawn 2x1 timber 2

spec.2x1x1.8m               8pkt  cost £4.17   x 2 16 lenghts in total        

galvanised wire netting (chicken wire) cost £9.95

total for my fence is  £18.29
